Hitlers Island Madness (DVD) ** New **

As soon as Hitler's forces occupied the Channel Islands he ordered a series of fortifications to defend the only British territory he ever conquered. The problem was he never stopped, pouring men, concrete and weapons into the Islands until his officers began to refer to his "inselwahn" his island madness and the Channel Islands had become the most fortified place - on earth. By 1944 the Channel Islands had taken in over 8% of the concrete destined for the Atlantic Wall and had more guns than 600 miles of Normandy Coast. Of the German commanders only Rommel understood the implications for the invasion they all knew was coming.

The Occupation of the Channel Islands (DVD) ** New **

The Channel Islands were the only British territory occupied by German forces during the Second World War and theirs is a unique story. The Occupation of the Channel Islands is a three DVD boxed set comprising three extraordinary films. Each film is composed of the testimony of islanders who lived through the Occupation and their tales are carefully woven together to tell the story without the need for a script. This is their history in their own words.

German Tunnels in Guernsey, Alderney & Sark

Festung Guernsey is proud to announce the release of a new publication entitled "German Tunnels in Guernsey, Alderney and Sark". Of all WWII fortifications in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, none have captured more imagination and interest than that of the German tunnels. Genuine recorded and researched information has always been overshadowed by fantastic stories, legend and folklore worthy of any block-buster movie. For this very reason the book aims to set the record straight.

  Jersey`s German Tunnels

The long-awaited successor to German Tunnels in the Channel Islands. Much of the original text remains, but, where appropriate, it has been revised and updated, and the opportunity has been taken to include new material. The format of the book has also been improved, and the tunnel plans are now in colour, along with the majority of the photographs and other illustrations. Tunnels in Guernsey, Alderney and Sark will now be covered in a separate publication produced by Festung Guernsey.

  Festung Alderney

Inspired by the post-Liberation ground check carried out by the RAF in late May 1945, when an assessment was made of the accuracy of wartime aerial reconnaissance cover of Alderney, Trevor Davenport has covered virtually every square metre of the island in producing this copiously illustrated book. Within each of the typical Atlantic Wall defensive concentrations, the fortress standard defences are included, as well as detailed plans of the German additions to each of the Victorian forts and, for the first time, a comprehensive catalogue of the extensive field defences, many of which still survive.
